LONG KEY, Fla. - Dennis James DeVries, 65, of Long Key, Fla. and formerly of Waupun died Friday June 26, 2009 at Fisherman's Hospital in Marathon, Fla.

He was born April 25, 1944 a son of the late John and Alice DeVries. Dennis graduated from Central Wisconsin Christian High School in 1962. He served our country as a Midshipman in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War 1963-1966 followed by a career in the U.S. Coast Guard until 1975.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Kathleen; daughters, Colleen Caliendo (Chris), Hartford, Tara Novak (John), Merton, and a son Michael (Michelle), Menomonee Falls; eight loving grandchildren, Alexandra, Erin, Christian, Gianna, Abbey, Macayla, Chase, Marissa; brothers Gordon, James, and John.

A memorial service was held Thursday, July 2, at the Kay Weeks Center in Long Key, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the MWR fund for the Coast Guard members and their families.
