Idana E. Koch, age 87, of North Freedom, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was born on April 1, 1922 in Reedsburg Township, the daughter of Willard L. and Ruby May (Shultis) Hitchcock.
Idana grew up on the family farm, and farmed most of her life. She worked at Pierce’s Supermarket before retiring. She was a lifelong member of the North Freedom Baptist Church.
Idana was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Archie an Jerry Hitchcock.
She is survived by: Her children, William (Carol) Koch of North Freedom; Kenneth (Chris) Koch of Reedsburg; Dale (Lori) Koch of North Freedom; Grandson: Keith Koch of North Freedom; Brother: Bill Hitchcock of Arizona; Sister: LueRae Crawley of Florida; nieces, nephews, cousins, along with other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Idana Koch will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the North Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Okey Cogar officiating. Burial will follow in Narrows Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
The Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg is assisting the family with the arrangements.
