Old Hickory hires new general manager
Joey Connaughty has been named general manager of Old Hickory Golf Club. Connaughty joined Old Hickory as the club manager in March 2007. "Old Hickory Golf Club is beautifully entwined in Beaver Dam history. I am honored to become the general manager of this timeless institution, and look forward to many years of service to this wonderful club and community," said Connaughty. Connaughty will manage the operation along with Mike Lyons, golf course superintendent and Pete Dittmer, golf professional. Connaughty joined Old Hickory after spending 15 years in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Her experience ranges from restaurant general manager to marketing director for a multi-concept restaurant group in Madison. Striving for excellence in customer service is her passion, as well as understanding all aspects of this business. Along with her team of managers and employees, Connaughty is driven to lead Old Hickory Golf Club into its next generation of success. Her other passion is her family - husband Patrick Connaughty of Beaver Dam, and three young boys, Silas, Grahm and Jack. Designed in 1920 as a nine-hole course by architect Tom Bendelow, Old Hickory now is one of Wisconsin's finest and formidable 18-hole gems. Bendelow preserved the integrity of the land, the rolling hills, the magnificent oak and hickory trees, and the rock fences created by both farmer and nature. Old Hickory Golf Club has been guided by the energy and passion of its members and management and has developed into a member-owned, multi-faceted facility that has been the site for national and local events and passionate players. It is located at W7596 Hghway 33 near Beaver Dam. For more information visit www.oldhickory cc.com.
