MAILBAG - Fall River pep band; abortion stance

Fall River pep band wows crowd

On Saturday, my family attended the boys basketball game of Randolph vs. Fall River.

Fall River had its pep band playing for the game. Not only were we astounded by how fabulous they were, but so was everyone else we talked with. I wanted to take the time to let others know how much we appreciated them.

The pep band was full of enthusiasm, leadership, quality sound and singers. I've never heard a high school band perform so well.

Thanks for taking the time to show up, play, and give us extra added entertainment. It is always neat to see what a school has to offer that is above other schools, and Fall River definitely excels at its band program.

Abortion stand is hypocritical

An open letter to:

Donna Katen-Bahensky, president and CEO, U.W. Hospital and Clinics; Jeffrey Grossman, M.D., president and CEO UW Medical Foundation; Jim Woodward, president and CEO Meriter Hospital

I understand your organizations have agreed to cooperate between them and establish facilities to perform abortions. You say it is a "necessary service" in the area, or a "needed service."

Are your organizations the same ones that are dedicated to improving health and saving lives?

Are they the same organizations that ban all smoking on or near the premises, because it is detrimental to good health?

You try to save lives, improve health, cure cancer. At the same time you end life purposely - in the same facilities. There is a word that describes such actions: hypocrite!

I am sure you receive some taxpayer support. What a shame. I object. If I need medical help in the future, and have control, it will be at St. Mary's in Madison, or one of the Milwaukee hospitals.
