German institute coming to Dodge County

The Friends of the Max Kade Institute of German-American studies will have its annual dinner this year in Dodge County.

The county's rich German heritage will bring supporters of German-American research from around the state to a day of activity.

Supporters of maintaining the German language, culture and customs in the area are invited to attend some or all of the events. The events include a bus tour that departs from Feil's Supper Club in Randolph.

The schedule is as follows:

1 p.m.  — A bus tour of Fachwerk (half-timbered) architecture in Lebanon and area north of Watertown led by Lyle Lidholm, master builder;

3:30-4:30 p.m. — Annual meeting at Beaver Dam Community Library

4:30-6 p.m. — Williams Free Library display of local German-American influence

- Local students of German singing  

- German word spelling bee

- Schafskopf card games

- Überraschungsei toy display

- Germanfest at Beaver Dam Lake Days

- Germanfest  at Beaver Dam Lake Days scholarship recipients

6 p.m. — Depart for Feil's Supper Club

7 p.m. — Annual dinner at Feil's Supper Club
