River Jam ready to roll
Horicon's Rock N River Jam kicks off Thursday at Discher Park and continues through Saturday with free music, a variety of food and a few events unique to the annual festival. Thursday's highlights include a Taste of Horicon from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and the queen contest at 7 p.m. On Friday, there will be music by the Sotano Project from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and by Vic Ferrari from 8:30 p.m. to midnight. Saturday includes a mini Taste of Horicon, music by Bobby & The Wayouts and Johnny Wad Band as well as professional wrestling, a petting zoo and more. There will be rummage sales throughout the weekend, and the Horicon Aquatic Center will be open. There also is a free, bus shuttle service from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Secured parking will be provided from the Horicon Police Department with assistance from the Explorer Scouts on Friday night and Saturday night at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church parking lot. Those who attend are invited to participate in the Rock N Food Drive. For each non-perishable food item or $1 brought to the park, donors will receive one raffle ticket. Prizes will be awarded each night. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
