Randolph to spend $14,000 on pool

RANDOLPH — Work to bring the village of Randolph pool into compliance with the Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act will be done in the fall.

On June 11, the village board voted to accept a proposal from Neuman Pools to replace drains in both pools.

The village had the pool inspected to learn what needed to be done to bring the pool into compliance. The inspection was also done by Neuman Pools.

The work will cost the village $14,714, with 50 percent paid up front, and the remainder to be paid after work is completed.

The village had $11,000 in the pool budget for 2009 to pay for a new pool pump, but is seeking funds to cover the both the balance of work done and to cover the cost of the inspection.

A pool fund has been created, and the Randolph Park Board and volunteers are planning fundraising activities. The initial goal is to raise $5,000. Donations, payable to the Randolph Public Pool Fund, may be sent to 248 W. Stroud St.
