Local businesses support Pink Ribbon Classic

Fifth annual golf invitational was held June 10

Local and international breast cancer programs were the recipient of generous donations made recently from the proceeds of the 2009 Pink Ribbon Classic Rally for the Cure Ladies' Golf Invitational.

Pink Ribbon co-chairs Kathy Foulkes and Barbara Martens presented a check for $4,500 to the Beaver Dam Community Hospital Foundation to support and enhance the BDCH Breast Health program.

Rick Reed Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep donated $1,000 to Susan G. Komen For The Cure. The Reed organization had pledged $5 for every test drive taken at the Pink Ribbon Classic. The Seippel Foundation gave $500, having committed to matching for the BDCH Breast Health Services up to $500 of the amount raised by the Reed test drives.

The fifth annual golf invitational was held on June 10 at Old Hickory Golf Club. This year, 144 women golfed in the event to raise funds for Susan G. Komen For The Cure and the Beaver Dam Community Hospital. Susan G. Komen For The Cure is the world's largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
