Man guilty of punching doctor
A Watertown man who reportedly punched an emergency room doctor for not dressing or acting like a doctor has been sentenced to probation. Eric T. Wonderlin, 44, N798 Second Street Road, Watertown, was convicted of battery after the charge was amended from battery to hospital personnel. He must serve one year of probation and pay $88. Wonderlin told police he punched the doctor in the neck because he did not like what the doctor was saying and didn't believe he was a real doctor. The doctor, who was wearing blue scrubs and a long white coat, said he was reading the results of an EKG test when Wonderlin struck him.
