Riptide toasts Wisconsin Dells
By Deb O'Rourke/For the News Republic
It wasn’t only the high temperatures heating up the Baraboo Outdoor Pool on Saturday as The Baraboo Riptide beat the Wisconsin Dells Dolphins 525.5-126.5.
The Dolphins felt the heat early on in the meet as The Riptide won 18 of the first 20 races of the day.
In the first event, the medley relay, The Riptide won nine of the 10 races, with first-place swims by Baraboo’s 8 and under girls team of Caroline Schick, Giselle Riem, Hannah Vittengl and Sarah Anderson; the 9-10 girls teams of Allison Warming, Abby Hennessy, Zoe Herdina, Alison Krug, and Devin Fichter; the 9-10 boys team of Eric Anderson, Noah Larson and Paddy O’Rourke, the 11-12 girls team of Andrea Noonan, Isabel Schmelzer, Laken Murphy and Hannah Mueller; the 11-12 boys team Brian Cormican, Collin Feld, Tanner Craker and Sean Cormican; the 13-14 girls team of Sharri Waldron, Gemma Pillsbury, Karli Didrickson and Amaya Larson; the 13-14 boys team of Sam Trotter, Matthew Garcia, Alex Noonan and Riley Fichter; the 15-18 girls teams of Shannon Keeling, Blair Murphy, Lacey Craker and Ellie Ruefer and the 15-18 boys team Brennan Gasser, Kody Mjelde, Nicholas Craker and Daniel Konen.

At the halfway point of the meet, The Riptide continued to heat up the pool.
