Emma M. Hinrichs

 

 

Emma M. Hinrichs, age 102, of Rock Springs, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City.

She was born on December 13, 1906 in the Town of LaValle, Sauk County, the daughter of Ferdinand and Barbara (Hoffbauer) Wegner. On October 7, 1924, she was united in marriage to Albert W. Hinrichs. Emma enjoyed fishing and gardening in her spare time. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include six children: Irene Rose, of LaValle; Elva (Lorenz) Struck, of Reedsburg; Marvin (Norma) Hinrichs, of Rockford, Ill.; Owen Hinrichs, of Baraboo; Robert (Rose) Hinrichs, of Roscoe, Ill. and Geraldine (Dennis) Klingenmeyer, of Rock Springs; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Mary Wegner, of Baraboo and Elizabeth Van Wormer, of Reedsburg; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, on November 16, 1970; her son-in-law: Walter Rose; her daughter-in-law: Geraldine Hinrichs; one sister: Agnes Saint Clair and six brothers: Ewald, Martin, Leo, Reinhold, Emil and Paul Wegner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2009 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church. Expressions of sympathy to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
