Donald Sorenson

Donald R. Sorenson Sr., 78, of Elroy, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at his home. He was born July 10, 1930, to James and Jennie (King) Sorenson in Elroy, where he grew to adulthood.

Donald was united in marriage to Anna Mae Even on March 25, 1972, in Illinois. Don worked for the railroad, later in Racine, and for 26 years at the Foundry in Reedsburg.

Survivors include his wife, Anna of Elroy; children, Judith Solari of California, Donald Jr. of Wonewoc and Ronald of Whitehall; step-children, Richard (Geri) of Cottage Grove, Christopher, Paul, and Daniel all of Elroy, Gladys Ann (Jay) Voss of Galesville and Patricia (Jeff) Johnson of New Lisbon; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Spencer of Racine; and brothers, Norman of Elroy and Bob (Janice) of Janesville.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph; step-daughter, Tina; sisters, Gladys Granger, Bonnie Tiedtke and Millie Kenser; and brothers, John, Harold, Gilbert, George, Clarence, and Vilas.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Elroy with Jay Voss officiating. Burial will be in the Elroy City Cemetery.
