People will have a difficult time not seeing fireworks on the Fourth of July here and even earlier.

Christmas Mountain Village will be having fireworks on July 3 starting at 10 p.m.

The Platters will be performing at 8 p.m.

The Wisconsin Dells Kiwanis Club is again coordinating the annual Fourth of July fireworks display in Wisconsin Dells.

Kiwanis members have again contracted with J & M Displays of Yormouth, Iowa to provide the show. It is sponsored by the city of Wisconsin Dells, the village of Lake Delton, the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau and the Wilderness Hotel & Resort.

This year more than 1,100 aerial shells will go up over the city. The display will begin at dusk on July Fourth in the area of the Dells Municipal Pool, La Crosse Street. The Kiwanis Club will provide a refreshment stand, with profits going to area community service projects and scholarships.

In addition, the following will also have firework displays:

-- Mt. Olympus, July 4, 9:30 to 10 p.m.

-- Wilderness Resort, July 4, 9:30 to 10 p.m.

-- Kalahari Resort, July 4, 9:45 to 10:05 p.m.

-- Great Wolf Lodge, July 4, 9:30 to 10 p.m.

-- Dells Raceway Park, July 4, fireworks to follow races.

For those who want a different venue for viewing the fireworks, Chula Vista Resort and Dells Boat Tours are offering a cruise down river to see the fireworks.

“We always get inquiries about special tours for the Fourth, and this year we have a great package with Chula Vista where visitors can dine on a delicious traditional picnic meal and then relax on our tour boat to take in the great scenery and spectacular fireworks,” said Stephanie Gunderson of Dells Boat Tours.

Partiers start with a Chic-Pic Party from 4 to 8 p.m. on the outdoor terrace near the Chula Vista Riverview Ballroom. The menu includes grilled and fried chicken, coleslaw, salad, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, baked beans and dessert.

Around 8:15 p.m., passengers will board a Dells Boat Tour and embark on a one and a half hour cruise along the scenic Upper Dells. The tour boat loads at the dock behind Chula Vista and arrives in the city in time to see fireworks from the boat on the river.
