Wincenty “Vince” Janowiak, 65, of Sun Prairie and formerly of Wisconsin Dells, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Meriter Park Hospital in Madison.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Father Arnold Reuter celebrating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells.

Visitation will be at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.

Vince was born Feb. 12, 1944 in Poland, the son of Wincenty and Joanna (nee Lichosyt) Janowiak. He had been a member of the Polish army. In 1968 he married Anna Pakos in Poland. After moving to the Wisconsin Dells area they owned and operated the Malibu Motel from 1991 to 2008.

Vince is survived by his loving wife, Anna; stepparents, Wendelin and Julia Janowiak of Worth, Ill.; a son, Alex of Sun Prairie; a daughter, Renee (Derrick) Partlow of Sun Prairie; brothers, Frank of Glendale, Ariz., Stan (Maria) of Tomah, John (Stella) of Burbank, Ill., Emil (Jane) of Lemont, Ill. and Albin (Irene) of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters, Mary (Adam) Sliwa of Tomah and Helen (Bruno) Kucek of Alsip, Ill.; and grandchildren, Ariana and Sade.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wendelin.
