Louise Vorpahl, 75, of Mauston, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at Maplewood Nursing Home of Sauk Prairie in Sauk City.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton with the Rev. David M. Bowman officiating. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

Louise was born Oct. 21, 1933 in Chicago the daughter of Francis and Cecelia (nee Lisiecki) Vorpahl. She served her country in the Air Force for a short time. She married Edward T. Sarafin, the father of her children, in 1954. She then married Anthony Vorpahl in 1973. She worked as a nurse’s aide in Columbus, Ind.. She was also a volunteer in the gift shop at Hess Memorial Hospital since 2001 and worked at the Alaskan Motel as a housekeeper for 10 years.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Richard) Nagel of Lake Delton; son, David Sarafin of Eldridge, Iowa; brother, Julian (Peggy) Grabski of Napa, Calif.; sisters, Theresa Reilly of Norridge, Ill., Regina (John) Syryczuk and Sally (Malen) Reyzer both of Lublin and grandchildren, Ryan, Anne and Rachel. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother; Roman Grabski; sister, Lucille Lukas and her grandson Derek.
