Kimberly Damnitz-Overland

Kimberly Damnitz-Overland of the Wisconsin Dells area for over 17 years passed away at home Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at the young age of 41 years.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Picha Funeral Home in Wisconsin Dells, on Friday, Oct. 16, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Kimberly was born July 17, 1968 in Chicago, the daughter of Ronald and Mary (Elliston) Damnitz. She met Ira Overland Jr. at Nig’s Bar over a pool game bet, to which the winner collected five special smiles. Her passion was to play cards — Texas Hold’em in the Wisconsin Dells League. She fancied herself as the Mike Madisow of poker. "Right now I know she is playing a game of poker with St. Peter for another stack of chips for the finals."

She is survived by her father, Ronald Damnitz; three brothers, Ronald Jr., Thomas (Dawn) and Christopher Damnitz; three nephews, Thomas, Jr., Matthew and Josh; a niece, Nichole; two great-nieces, Ariana and Giselle; two uncles, Ray and Roger Damnitz. Also in remembrance of the Kedvale Street days of her childhood.

She is further survived by the Ira Overland Jr. family; parents, Ira and Jacci Overland; brother-in-law, Erik (Misha), sisters-in-law, Robin Huggins and Alana Overland; nieces, Serina and Erin; nephews, Andrew, Ryan, Nathen, Kyle and Dane.

With her friends and family we will reach up and collect one more big smile together.
