Roman F. Korney
Roman F. Korney, 85, formerly of Chicago, currently of Briggsville, died on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009 at his home.
Roman was born on June 18, 1924 in Chicago, the son of Roman and Tillie (Donatelli) Korney. He was married to the former Helen Theologes, who preceded him in death. Roman was a police officer in Wheeling, Ill. and had worked at Tower Products in Mundelein, Ill. until his retirement. He served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by two children, Rebecca Korney, Madison, and Roman Korney, III, Briggsville; five grandchildren, Rich, Eric and Dan Moriarity, Tanya and Siena Lomastro-Korney; other near relatives and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen, his sister, Jeanne Lucker, and his brother, Billy Korney.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Briggsville, with Father Jim Murphy officiating. Inurnment will be private.
