Gregerson and Mor
earn academic
all-state honors
Nick Mor, a Wisconsin Dells High School freshman and junior Jake Gregerson are cousins. They have a lot more than blood in common though. Growing up in wrestling families, both were destined to compete on the mat for their school. The same hard work ethic and dedication that saw both wrap up successful seasons this past winter must be in place when it comes to school work as well. Both earned Honorable Mention in the annual rankings published by 'Crossface', a publication dedicated to wrestling in Wisconsin. Crossface publisher Joseph Kaster described a formula that uses the students Grade Point Average along with wrestling performance to come up with rankings. The wrestlers' GPA is multiplied by 100, then added to varsity wins and state tournament points. Wrestlers can pick up as much as 60 additional points from the state event, so making the team without going to state is an impressive feat. Gregerson earned Honorable Mention in the Grade 11-12 division with a GPA of 3.98 and 21 varsity wins for 419 points. Mor used a 3.53 GPA and 27 varsity wins to come up with a total of 380 in the Grade 9-10 Division. Other South Central Conference competitors named to the team include: Grade 11-12: First Team - Adam Thiesen (Adams-Friendship) 3.72 GPA, 45 varsity wins, state champion - 477 points; Second Team - Ryan Seidler (Adams-Friendship) 3.76 GPA, 43 varsity wins, 4th at State - 448 points. Grade 9-10: Third Team - Dillon Hammond (Adams-Friendship - 4.00 GPA, seven varsity wins, 407 points; Ryan Johnson (Adams-Friendship) 3.83 GPA, 18 varsity wins - 401 points; Honorable Mention - Steven Walker (Adams-Friendship) 3.77 GA 3 varsity wins -380 points; Dustin Kirsenlohr (Adams-Friendship) 3.58 GPA, 20 varsity wins - 378 points. Wrestlers are nominated by their respective schools for inclusion on the list. WDHS varsity head coach nominated Gregerson and Mor.
