Lake Delton police are searching for a man following a potentially “drug-related” altercation between him and a woman Nov. 5 in the 1100 block of East Hiawatha Drive, according to Police Chief Daniel Hardman.

Police responded to a report of “a physical disturbance” at 5:16 p.m. inside a residence on Hiawatha Drive, where they found the unidentified woman with a cut on her forehead from “being struck with a handgun,” a news release from Hardman said.

“The male subject fled from the residence prior to the arrival of officers, and his location is unknown at this time,” the release said.

The woman was examined by Dells-Delton EMS paramedics, who also responded to the scene along with the members of the Wisconsin Dells and Baraboo police departments and the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department. She “refused to be transported to the hospital,” the news release said.

“The male subject fled from the residence prior to the arrival of officers,” the news release said. “The incident is believed to be drug related and is still under investigation.”
