Donna was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William and Dolores (Garterman) Newman. She loved her family and friends and loved nothing more than doting over her grandchildren. Donna married the love of her life, Wayne Oeftger, Aug. 1, 1970. Donna enjoyed being with family and friends the most, but also enjoyed scrapbooking/stamping, making cards and giving to others. Donna also loved to travel with her family all over the country and later with her husband Wayne after retirement. Their trips together included nine cruises all over the world, months spent in Florida, and much of their free time was spent in Three Lakes and Eagle River. Donna taught in the Baraboo School District for 34 and one half years. Her passion was teaching and working with kids.

Donna is survived by her husband, Wayne; sons, Chad (Jenni) of Neenah, Matthew (Amy) of Wisconsin Dells and Justin (Katie) of Monona; daughter, Tiffany (Darrin) Schuette of Kiel; brother, John Newman of Wisconsin Dells; sister, Diana (Terry) Soria of Milwaukee; and grandchildren, Graham, Madison, Megan, Mariana, Mya, Minka, Max and William.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct.19, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating. Visitation was held at the Picha Funeral Home Wednesday evening, Oct. 18, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again Thursday morning, at the church from noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo.

A special thank you goes out to Donna and Wayne’s doctor, Dr. Randy Krszjzaniek for being a great doctor to them over the years. Also thank you to Donna’s circle friends for their love and support.
