Wisconsin Dells freshman Jade Herzer finished in first place at 138 pounds, while sophomore teammate Elizah Leonard ended up in second place at the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation’s Women’s High School Folkstyle State Tournament in Poynette on Sunday.

Herzer won all three of her matches with pins on Sunday, including one in 2 minutes, 25 seconds over Madison Thomson in the championship match. Herzer also pinned West Allis Central’s Joette Kassa in 3:35 in the quarterfinals before pinning Riverside’s Dagelin Cueto in 1:18 in the semifinals.

Leonard reached the finals at 120 pounds by pinning Sun Prairie’s GraceAnn Rossmiller in 1:59 in the quarterfinals and Holmen’s Claire Eade in 0:51 in the semifinals. In the championship match, Tomahawk’s Naleah Hedges got the better of Leonard, pinning her in 0:45.
