The South Central Cyclones Bantam A team punched its ticket to the state tournament by beating McFarland and Janesville at the Region 4 playdowns in Madison.
In an 8-0 victory over McFarland, CJ Pfaff led the Cyclones with four goals, while Luna Larson scored a pair. Grant Marsich and Oliver Scanlan also scored for the Cyclones. Trevor Slaght finished with five assists in the win, while Caden Jacobson had a pair of assists. Pfaff, Larson, Marsich and Kyle Poole all chipped in with single assists, while Cooper Oakes had 13 saves in goal to get the shutout.
On Sunday, the Cyclones clinched their Section 4 championship with a 7-1 victory over Janesville. Marsich and Larson both netted a pair of goals in the win, including one from Marsich that came just 18 seconds into the game. Pfaff, Poole and Ty Thompson had the other goals for the Cyclones.
Pfaff chipped in with two assists, while Larson, Jacobson, Slaght and Scanlan all had one assists in the win. Oakes finished with 19 saves.
The Cylones will now get ready for the state tournament, which will be held March 3-4 in Wisconsin Rapids. The team will open up on March 3 at 1:15 p.m. against Eagle River.
