TYPE E NOTICE: VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT TOWN OF BLOOMING GROVE, DANE COUNTY Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on election day, February 21, 2023, may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen who will be 18 years of age or older on election day, one who has resided in the Town of Blooming Grove for at least 28 consecutive days prior to the election, and is a registered voter in the Town of Blooming Grove. TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE BALLOT YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST IN WRITING. Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the election. You may also request an absentee ballot by letter, or obtain the application on the town's website: Your written request must list your voting address within the Town of Blooming Grove, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature. Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk. The deadline for making application to vote absentee by mail is 5:00pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023. While this is the statutory deadline, it is highly recommended that an application to vote absentee by mail be done as soon as possible. Another option is to go to the clerk's office, complete a written application, and vote on an absentee ballot in person. This can be done from Tuesday, February 7 through Thursday, February 9 from 8:00am to 4:00pm; Friday, February 10 from 8:00am to noon; Monday, February 13 through Thursday, February 16 from 8:00am to 4:00pm; or Friday, February 17 from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
