The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking candidates to serve as the 2018-2019 Columbus Ambassador. Eligible candidates must be current residents of the city of Columbus and at least 16 to 18 years of age. Each candidate must complete a questionnaire and undergo an interview.

All ambassadors are required to represent the city of Columbus with good character, morals and dignity. The ambassador must attend Chamber events such as, but not limited to: Safe trick-or-treat, the Red Bud Prince and Princess contest, Firecracker 5 Run/Walk, July 4th parade, Breakfast with Santa, downtown tree lighting, and the annual meeting. If the ambassador cannot fulfill his or her duties, the title will be given to an alternate. Should there not be an alternate then no money will be awarded.

A scholarship award of $1,000 will be given to the ambassador. It will be broken down into two payments of $500; one will be awarded at the beginning of the term and the remaining $500 will be given to the ambassador at the end of the term. The 2018-2019 term will run from October 2018 to August 2019.

Columbus Ambassador applications may be picked up at the Columbus High School office, 1164 Farnham St., in Columbus. Applications must be returned to the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 362, Columbus WI 53925, no later than Oct. 15, 2018.
