Century 21 Affiliated holds fifth annual Day of Caring
Century 21 Affiliated held its fifth annual Day of Caring where the agents and staff of the Baraboo, Mauston, Reedsburg, Wisconsin Dells and Portage offices came together to help and support retired and active military members on Nov. 27.
The group donated a $500 gift card to Jeanine and Max Fortin and their three children, ages 15, 13 and 5. Ten months ago, Max Fortin retired from 25 years of military service and on Aug. 11 a house fire took everything including their beloved pets.
“The Fortins were blessed to be able to escape from this fire with their lives, and they still have a long way to go in rebuilding and replenishing all that was lost. As a group, our agents were fortunate to be able to meet them and provide them with support, especially in light of Max’s 25 years of military service. Now that we know more about their needs, we’ll be providing more items in the coming weeks,” said David Vander Schaaf, regional team leader for Century 21 Affiliated.
The Fortin family is staying in temporary housing until they can rebuild and need everything, including winter clothing. There is a Go Fund Me set up at gofundme.com/fortin-family for anyone who wishes to donate.
