The Baraboo prep boys golf team is finding its consistency as the season comes down the stretch.

The Thunderbirds shot a 350 for the second straight day Thursday, resulting in a second-place finish at the Nekoosa Invitational. Baraboo trailed only Reedsburg (335) in the 10-team event at The Pines at Lake Arrowhead Golf Course.

Dane Hinz continued to lead Baraboo, shooting a 79 on the par-72 course. The junior also carded a 79 in leading the T-Birds to a third-place finish at Wednesday’s Badger North Conference mini-meet at Old Hickory Golf Club in Beaver Dam.

Hinz trailed only Reedsburg’s Will Fuhrmann on Thursday. Furhmann won medalist honors by shooting a 36 on the front nine and a 39 on the back to finish with a 3-over 75. Hinz and Fuhrmann were the only golfers to break 80 Thursday.

Baraboo’s Noah Anderson also finished in the top five and matched his score from Wednesday, shooting a 41 on the front nine and a 44 on the back nine to tally an 85. Anderson trailed only Fuhrmann, Hinz, Marshfield’s Ben Baur (83) and Reedsburg’s Carson Beyer (83).

Jacob Carignan added a 92 out of Baraboo’s fifth spot, while Jack Rath carded a 94 to round out the team’s scoring. Noah Tiber shot a 100 for the T-Birds.

Baraboo will head to Sparta on Saturday for an invitational at River Run Golf Course.
