The Baraboo High School boys tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to DeForest on Thursday night.
The Thunderbirds won a pair of doubles matches but dropped all four singles matches in a 5-2 Badger North Conference loss in Baraboo.
Baraboo won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Ryan Lawrence and Graham Langkamp improved to 5-0 as No. 1 doubles partners, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Mason Hoffman and Chris Kennedy.
John Goeckerman and Kevin Schuster dropped their first set at No. 2 doubles before rallying for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 win over Bryce Erdman and Ryan Reynolds.
DeForest got the best of Baraboo at No. 3 doubles, as Josh Dichoso and Nolan McCann handed Brice Parchem and Andrew Brooks a 6-0, 6-3 loss.
Baraboo’s Brayden Turner nearly picked up a win at No. 4 singles, claiming the first set before suffering a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 loss to Nathan Xiong.
Baraboo’s Keaton Thomte dropped a 6-2, 6-2 match to Adam Horton at No. 1 singles, while Jake Lemke suffered a 7-5, 6-1 loss to Eliot Pickhardt at No. 2 singles and Liam Arbogast dropped a 6-4, 6-3 match to Brady Feist at No. 3 singles.
Baraboo (1-6, 0-2 Badger North) will go on the road for a conference duals next week, facing Beaver Dam on Wednesday and Waunakee on Thursday.
