The Baraboo prep softball team couldn’t knock off the Badger North Conference champions Tuesday night.

DeForest remained unbeaten in conference play, scoring six first-inning runs on the way to handing visiting Baraboo an 11-1 loss in six innings.

The Norskies (20-4, 14-0 Badger North) had 11 hits while taking advantage of four Baraboo errors.

Taylor Von Behren provided the big blast, going 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs on the night. Jordan Marty went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored for the Norskies, and Taylor Shaw and Taylor Tschumper added two hits apiece.

Jade Parchem had two of Baraboo’s five hits, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Paige Lewison went 1-for-3 with a double, Haley Hannagan went 1-for-3 with a run, and Callie Hammermeister went 1-for-2.

Taylor Shaw earned the win on the mound, striking out eight while giving up just five hits and one unearned run in a complete game as DeForest swept the season series.

Emma Crary threw all 5⅔ innings for Baraboo, giving up seven earned runs.

Baraboo (11-9, 6-7) will host Beaver Dam on Thursday. The T-Birds recorded a 6-3 win at Beaver Dam on April 5.
