A collision between a vehicle and a grain truck resulted in the death of a driver Tuesday.
The Sauk County Sheriff's Office released the names of the people involved. The driver who died was John F. Seibert, 59, of Wonewoc. Charles M. Harris, 76, of Cazenovia, was driving the grain truck and had minor injuries.
Sheriff Chip Meister released information Thursday that the accident was reported around 10 a.m. at the intersection of County Highway H and D and West Road in the town of Dellona.
Preliminary investigation found that Seibert, the driver of a 2006 Mitsubishi, was pulling onto Highway H from D and W Road and failed to yield to Harris, who was driving a 2007 International grain truck. The truck crashed into the car and both vehicles blocked the lanes of traffic.
Seibert was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. His name had not been previously identified by officials to allow for time to notify family members.
The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and Wisconsin State Patrol.
