James B. Kimpfbeck, 58, of Baraboo, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018.
James was born March 17, 1960, in Baraboo, the son of James Allen and Kenlyn Joy (Holt) Kimpfbeck.
James attended Baraboo High School and then enlisted in the Army National Guard. He was called to active duty and was involved in humanitarian missions in Germany, Nicaragua and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He retired from the Army National Guard in 2005 after more than 22 years of service.
James had many special friends and family, including a special place for Kary Fowler who shared his love for motorcycles and the open road. He will be truly missed by his family and friends including his work family at Milwaukee Valve.
Survivors include his wife, Tiffany Kimpfbeck; four daughters, Chelsea (Bradley) Smith, Sidney Kimpfbeck, Jadie (Kenneth) Yeager, and Brooke McCullick; six grandchildren, Jillian, Emilia, Jude, Josie, Natalie and Destiny; brother, Dennis (Sheila) Kimpfbeck; sister, Terri (Chris) Mosher; and other relatives and friends.
James was preceded in death by his father; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at the Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520East St., Baraboo, with Pastor Don Glanzer officiating. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held in Webster Prairie Cemetery in the town of Delton with military honors provided. A luncheon and celebration of Jim’s life will follow at Frankie’s Bar for all who wish to attend.
