Thomas “Tom” Hewitt, 25, of Baraboo, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at his home.
Tom was born Dec. 5, 1992, in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Daniel and Ingrid (Hokom) Hewitt. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Tom was born and raised in Illinois but lived and worked most of his adult life in Wisconsin in the Wisconsin Dells, Baraboo and Lake Delton areas.
Although his life was cut short, he lived an active and full life. At the time of his death, he had recently acquired a house that he was very proud of; held a full-time job as a chef at a local resort with long hours of work; and also operated his own small business of an auto repair service. While growing up in Illinois, Tom and his brothers spent many summer vacations visiting the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where the family owns a cottage on a lake, and he also enjoyed fishing on Lake Delton and Devil’s Lake.
The family wishes to acknowledge the numerous messages of sympathy and condolences from Tom’s friends, co-workers and acquaintances. It helps to know he had such a positive effect on so many people in such a short amount of time. God’s blessings on you all.
Tom is survived by his parents; wife Karla; brothers, Michael (Sarah) Hewitt of Wisconsin Dells, and Christopher (Heather) Hewitt of Georgia; his dear friend, Stephanie (John) Jarvis of Baraboo; as well as nieces and nephews, Taylor, Avery, Dylan, Payton and Bennett.
A celebration of life memorial gathering will be held from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at the Northshore Restaurant in Baraboo.
The Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Lake Delton assisted the family with arrangements. For online condolences and information, visit pichafuneralhome.com.
