LETTER: Thanksgiving drive possible because of generous community

  • 0

The generosity of Baraboo to the annual Community Thanksgiving drive has been overwhelming and deeply appreciated. More than 300 complete Thanksgiving meals were donated and more than $4,000 to cover the costs of turkeys, milk and eggs.

Thank you to the Food Pantry for coordinating with the community, all the volunteers who assembled boxes, to the local churches who donated and helped, to Jason Grossenbacher and the Festival Foods volunteers, to the students and staff of Baraboo High School, Jack Young Middle School and Gordon L. Willson Elementary School, to Calvin Peterson for his neighborhood drive, to the Presbyterian Women’s group, to the high school Builders Club and the hundreds of individuals who care about their neighbors in need.

In past years, Peter Murray led this drive, and now the tradition continues. We are so grateful to have such a kind and loving community.

Mary Ellen Murray, Jim and Becky Hovde, Baraboo
