Try 3 months for $3

April is designated as Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Eighteen years ago our local Baraboo Parkinson’s support group met with a goal to bring education and socialization to our members.

Also, knowing the importance of exercise for people with Parkinson’s, we began three years ago a non-contact boxing exercise program patterned after the national Rock Steady Boxing Program for people with Parkinson’s.

In celebration of our April birthday, we will have former Baraboo athlete and physician Dr. Ashley Woyak speak to our group on Natural Health to Support our Living Bodies.

All are welcome. Bring a friend. Meeting is from 2-4 p.m. April 15 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Baraboo.

Continuing our birthday celebration, free Parkinson’s boxing sessions will be offered from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays in April at the Pulse Fitness Center, 501 Hitchcock St., Baraboo. A safe, friendly environment with licensed trainers.

For more information, call Sylvia Kriegl at 356-7096 or Geri Schoenoff at 356-3473.
