More than 80 top holsteins from the regional area will be shown today at the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam. Junior Showmanship will take place from 8-10 a.m., with the Wisconsin Holstein District 8 show to follow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public, rain or shine.
Junior showmanship will showcase three age divisions: 10 and younger; Junior, 11-15; and Senior, 16-20. The Wisconsin Junior Holstein Association provides youth opportunities to become involved through the Registered Holstein Project and membership is open to those 21 years and younger.
The Wisconsin Holstein Association District 8 show features the top Holsteins from Dodge, Jefferson, Waukesha, Washington and Ozaukee counties. The group works with all areas of the dairy industry to promote, educate and develop programs that will help grow the dairy industry as a whole and is hosted by the Jefferson County Holstein Breeders.
