Domestic disturbance — On Feb. 7 at 9:33 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 300 block of S. John Street for a report of a verbal domestic disturbance. A 36-year-old Mayville man, advised that his fiance had been drinking a lot and that they were having an argument. Officers made contact with the man who said that his fiance, a 32-year-old Mayville woman, had made some comments about cheating on him and he had thrown a mattress out a window into the backyard. The man said that the woman punched him in his arm and ripped up a vehicle title and threw it in his face. Officers made contact with the woman who was on probation and had a no-drink order. Her PBT was determined to be .156. She said that the man broke her phone which she valued at $1,000 by throwing it into a wall. The man admitted to breaking the phone and also said he broke a tablet over his knee but the tablet belonged to him. The woman was arrested and taken to jail for a probation violation. The man was cited for criminal damage to property for breaking the woman’s phone.
Disorderly conduct — On Feb. 11 at 3:10 p.m. officers were dispatched to Mayville High School, 500 N. Clark Street, for a report of a fight. A 15-year-old Mayville boy, said that a 16-year-old Theresa boy struck him several times, once in the head. The 16-year-old was suspended from school and was cited for disorderly conduct.
Hit and run — On Feb. 11 at 4:23 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 300 block of N. Walnut Street for a hit and run accident. A 51-year-old Mayville man said that an unknown driver backed into him causing damage to the driver’s side quarter panel. The operator of the offending vehicle couldn’t be located.
Vehicle fire — On Feb. 13 at 7:17 p.m. officers responded to the intersection of Horicon Street and South Henninger Street for a report of a vehicle on fire. The owner of the vehicle, a 1996 Buick Regal, told officers that she was operating the vehicle when she smelled smoke and pulled over. Flames could be seen coming from the vehicle. The Mayville Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. There were no injuries.
Traffic accident — On Feb. 14 at 7:42 p.m. officers were dispatched to the intersection of Breckenridge Street and North Mountin Drive for a report of a one-vehicle traffic accident. A 17-year-old Fox Lake man said he lost control of his vehicle on an icy patch and left the roadway, hitting a sign. The officer observed approximately $1,000 worth of damage to the vehicle but there were no injuries. The 17-year-old was cited for driving too fast for conditions due to ice and snow on the roadway.
Vehicle fire — On Feb. 14 at 9:36 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of N. German Street for a vehicle on fire in the driveway. The owner told officers that they had left the vehicle, a 2001 Ford Explorer, running in the driveway and when they came out of the house they found the car smoking. The Mayville Fire Department was called to extinguish the fire. The vehicle was considered a total loss. No one was injured.
