FOX LAKE — Festive fun is on the agenda Saturday as Fox Lake celebrates its 13th annual “December to Remember.”
Vicki Matheys, president of Fox Lake’s Chamber of Commerce, said the event is popular with both young and old alike.
“Lots of fantastic, free activities for the kids begin at noon at the Fox Lake Community Center (248 E. State St.),” she said.
Children can participate in face painting, cookie decorating, ornament painting and a coloring contest. The Fancy Barber will be on hand to paint nails and style hair.
Several holiday movies will be shown throughout the afternoon, with plenty of popcorn for all to enjoy.
Adults can partake in raffles, silent auctions and a bake sale. Lunch will be available for purchase. The menu features burgers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, hot chocolate, soda and coffee.
Visit with Santa and his holiday friends from 1 to 4 p.m., and don’t forget to bring a camera.
The “December to Remember” parade begins at 5 p.m. It will line up at the corner of Mill and State Streets and end at the community center.
Matheys said crowds will be entertained by lots of colorful lights, around 30 parade entries and the Waupun Area School marching band.
Following the parade, Santa will hand out candy to all children at the community center.
The city of Fox Lake will provide a free hot dog dinner for all in attendance. People are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for the food pantry.
All proceeds will go toward future community activities for the greater Fox Lake area.
