Two kayakers were rescued Saturday afternoon after being stuck in a marsh in the Grand River Wildlife area, according to a press release from the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities received a call at 3:21 p.m. that two people were in the Grand River Wildlife area, and had become disoriented. The area is vast, with extensive water and a thick cover. Deputies sounded a siren which the kayakers could hear.
At approximately 4:03 p.m., the Green Lake County drone team spotted the two kayakers, and a tracked UTV carried them from the marsh.
The two women, a 55-year-old from Markesan and a 26-year-old from Fox Lake, were uninjured and did not require medical attention. Their kayaks were removed later.
