Metalcraft could be due for an expansion in Beaver Dam.
The company announced Thursday that it has purchased two properties adjacent to its facility in Beaver Dam, adding nine acres to the current 14-acre lot located between North Spring Steet and County Highway B. The company bought the two parcels from Apache Leasing and Beaver Dam Community Hospitals.
In an interview, Scott Schaefer, the vice president of finance for Metalcraft, said there is not yet a specific plan for the two properties, but the future is looking bright.
“We saw an opportunity with the land where it was,” he said. “Hopefully there is going to be some opportunity.”
Metalcraft took over its Beaver Dam facility in 2017 from Venture Manufacturing, which had 42 employees at the time and were all invited to stay on. Since then, the workforce has grown to three shifts and 120 employees at the facility.
“The success of our Beaver Dam facility is the main driver for this new acquisition,” said Randy Gloede, the president and COO for Metalcraft, which is based in Mayville. “With the additional land around our existing facility in Beaver Dam, we have reserved our right to expand as our business continues to grow.”
In a statement, he said that the growth is due to investments into new technology and equipment.
According to county records, Metalcraft purchased the Apache property for $225,000 and the BDCH property for $250,000.
