Peter John Weinkoetz, 73, Madison, was reunited with his beloved parents Monday, Oct. 2, 2017.

Peter was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Madison, to Pete and Kathleen (Farrell) Weinkoetz. He grew up in the Erin Street neighborhood and attended St. James Catholic Grade School and Edgewood High School. Peter graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1968 until 1970. While residing with his parents on Erin Street, Peter was beloved by many of his handyman customers and also worked for many years in the maintenance department at St. Raphael’s Cathedral. Peter loved reading his Bible and was a daily Mass attendee at St. James Catholic Church as well as St. Mary’s Hospital Chapel. He made many friends while attending Mass and volunteering at St. James and other organizations. He was well liked in the neighborhood of Erin and Orchard streets near Vilas Park. Peter was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed.

Peter is survived by his siblings, Wayne (Patricia) and Jayne (Ray) Stark; nieces and nephew, Julie Creus, Beth Stark and Michael Stark; great-nieces and nephews, Olivia and Liam, Jay and Lolli, and Arthur and Hugo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Kathleen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Parish at St. James Church, 1128 St. James Court, Madison, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, preceded by a visitation from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial was held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Wednesday, Oct. 4.
