Naomi W. “Toots” Peterson, 87, town of Hampden, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, at Columbus Health & Rehab in Columbus.
She was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Columbus, to Arthur and Lidia (Klawes) Krakow. Toots graduated from Fall River High School in 1948. She was married to Leroy “Pete” Peterson on June 7, 1952. Together they owned and operated their farm in the town of Hampden. Toots was a hard worker and excellent cook and hostess. Family, friends and neighbors were always treated to coffee, cookies, ice cream and other goodies while visiting or just stopping by. Her many nieces and nephews who spent countless days on ‘the farm’ over the years will remember her driving her beloved John Deere 620. Toots enjoyed spending a day at auctions, often bringing more collectibles home. She was longtime active member of St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fall River.
Survivors include her brother, Russell (Beatrice) Krakow of Fall River; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Pete in 2014.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., with visitation beginning at 3:30 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fall River. The Rev. Tim Gumm will officiate. Interment will be in the Fall River Cemetery, Fall River. Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.
