Robert “Bob” August Carl Billman, 95, Bella Vista, Arkansas, died Jan. 5, 2019, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.
Bob was born July 29, 1923, to Carl and Norman Billman in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He served in World War II as a bombardier in the 13th U.S. Air Force in the South Pacific. After the war he graduated from the University Of Denver School Of Business Administration. Bob lived and worked in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, for 28 years and retired to Bella Vista in 1983. In Bella Vista he enjoyed spending time on all the lakes in his fishing boat.
Bob was a member of the Bella Vista Men’s Chorus, Fly Tyers, Bowling Leagues 1 and 2. In addition, he played percussion in the Bella Vista Community Band, golfed and was a volunteer at the Bella Vista Library.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, whom he married in 1988; three children, Peggy Billman Kurtz of Everett, Washington, Tom Billman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mark Billman of Gainesville, Florida; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Bella Vista Community Church with Dr. Anna Teel officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
