Wendy S. Marten, 68, Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 12, 2019, with her family by her side at St. Agnes Hospital.
She was born Sept. 20, 1950, in Beaver Dam, the oldest daughter of the late Clifford “Kip” and Elaine Johnson Wehde. On July 5, 1969, she married Robert J. Marten, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Horicon.
Wendy was an avid knitter and crocheter, making many booties for everyone who asked. In her earlier years, she was an excellent artist. Before her illness, she worked at Fond du Lac Job Service, Mercury Marine and as a realtor. She moved from there to be a great homemaker and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, Justin and his wife Angela; and Wendy’s grandchildren, MiKayla, Makenzie, Aubrey, and Lily, who were the light of her life. She is further survived by her sister, Mary; her sister-in-law, Bonnie; nephews, Scott, Dan and Todd and their families; and her best little protector, Dexter.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Archie and Elaine Marten; and brother-in-law, Larry Petersen.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 17, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent St., Fond du Lac.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Phillip Enderle officiating. Cremation has taken place.
