William J. Schulze, 87, Horicon, died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, surrounded by his family at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Juneau.

The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 10 until 10:45 a.m. John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 is invited to pay their respects at 10:50 a.m. and the funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Cherie Forret officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery.

William John Schulze was born Nov. 20, 1931, in Clear Lake, Wisconsin, to Harold and Anna Grace (Haima) Schulze. He honorably served during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of American Legion Post 146. William worked for John Deere Horicon Works for 37 years as a tool and die maker. On Oct. 20, 1956, he was united in marriage with Genevieve McCarty in Columbus, Ohio. They enjoyed traveling together and visited all 50 states. Bill took pride in manicuring his lawn and enjoyed helping out at his neighbor’s farm. His time with his children and grandchildren was most cherished.

William is survived his children, Joan (Steve) Lohr of Campbellsport, Lori (Mike) Schultz of Burnett, and Sharon Manor of Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Matthew (Joelle) Lohr, Stephanie Lohr, Brian Schultz, Megan Manor and Madeline Manor; one great-granddaughter, Lydia Lohr; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Genevieve; and grandson, Nicholas Schultz.

Memorials may be made in William Schulze’s name to John E. Miller American Legion Post 146.
