Mandela Barnes is on a pace to cost taxpayers $220,000 for his first year in office. Multiply that by his four-year term and the number goes to just shy of $900,000. For comparison sake, Rebecca Kleefisch spent $4,300 in her last year in office for security.
A reporter recently looked into this and discovered that Barnes had three parking tickets in Milwaukee in 2018. He never paid them so the state suspended the registration on his car. He claims he sold that car in November of last year.
