Wings Over Wisconsin Beaver Dam Chapter held a Youth Hunt on Dec. 1 at Roosters Run Hunting Preserve.
It was a day full of events including classroom instruction, trap shooting, hunting pheasants, building bluebird houses and cleaning pheasants.
It was a huge success with a day of learning, outdoor activities and memories even with the weather.
Many thanks to Craig Gerritsen with Big Gain Feed for a monetary donation; Rodney Bensley, owner of Roosters Run Hunting Preserve, for the use of the facility for the event; Atwater Conservation Club for helping build bluebird houses; Paul Samerdyke, DNR biologist; and retired warden John Christian for presenting classroom instruction; Mike Kuzniewicz, Bayside Supper Club, for donating pheasant soup and hot dogs; Ken Mathison and Jim Braker of G&W Vending; Dave Kolof of Watertown 7up; and Dave Stephenson of Frito Lay for soda, water and chips.
Most importantly, Wings Over Wisconsin Beaver Dam Chapter needs to be thanked for donating food, bringing dogs, guiding the hunts and organizing a great day for the kids to hunt.
Thank you to everyone that made this day possible. We couldn't have done it without you.
