The Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146 varsity baseball team spotted Stoughton a run in the top of the first.
Then Post 146 got stingy — and a little greedy, too.
Beaver Dam held Stoughton scoreless the rest of the way while exploding for a dozen runs, cruising to a 12-1 victory Wednesday night at Beaver Dam High School.
Dillon Livingston’s two-out RBI double in the bottom of the first plated Derek Karlen to knot things up at 1 and Brandon LeBeau’s two-out RBI double in the next inning plated Ryan Novak to give Beaver Dam the lead for good at 2-1.
Connor Cullen’s two-run double and Max Wiersma’s two-out RBI triple were the highlights in a seven-run third for Beaver Dam that really broke things open.
Payton Gorr and LeBeau, batting seventh and eighth, were each 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Gorr also scored three runs.
Beaver Dam had six doubles in the contest, including two by Gorr.
Post 146 is now 1-1 on the summer and will play host to Fort Atkinson today at Beaver Dam High School.
