On behalf of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, we would like to thank those who participated in and/or sponsored the 2017 Redbud Prince and Princess Contest held at the Columbus Area Senior Center.

The contest, offered to boys and girls in 5K and first grade, provides an important opportunity to experience public speaking for the first time. The contestants, as well as the 2016 Red Bud Prince and Princess and runners up did an excellent job representing our community.

A special thank you to Al Strohschein, of Strohschein and Green Law Offices, for serving as the master of ceremonies, and our judges, Jordyn Watkins, Columbus Community Hospital; Michaela Baker, 2016 Columbus Ambassador; and Dave Carlson, city of Columbus.

Thank you to Sue Weirough of Old National Bank and Amy Jo Meyers of the Columbus Recreation Department for assisting with the event.

Thank you to the following businesses and organizations for your support: Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus Journal, Columbus Area Senior Center, Farmers & Merchants Union Bank, Columbus Family Dental, Sharrows Downtown, Old National Bank, Columbus Water and Light, Krause Custom Woodworking, MK Cellular, Eric Cotter – American Family Insurance, Ed Schellin – State Farm Insurance, and Secret Garden Floral. And finally, thank you to the parents of the contestants for encouraging your children to participate and take pride in their community.
