Movies in a Minute: 'Palmer' & 'Our Friend'
Movie critic Bruce Miller says Justin Timberlake in "Palmer" doesn’t stray much from the ex-con profile, but newcomer Ryder Allen is about as authentic as young actors get. He steals every scene he’s in and has a way of paying tribute to a friend that will make you weep openly. Also this week, the tearjerker "Our Friend" celebrates the power of friendship but, at times, it’s way too difficult to watch. Hints of "Terms of Endearment" and other, similar-themed films come to mind, but this is one that takes a certain mindset to appreciate. It’s a very tough film to embrace.
