Students from Beth Babcock's Wisconsin Wildlife and Ecology class at Mauston High School assisted DNR and Mauston officials in planting a variety of Oak, Kentucky Coffee, Hybrid Elm, and London Plane trees at Lion's Park on May 1. Eight trees were planted at Lion's Park, five trees were planted at the cemetery, three trees were planted at Riverside Park, and one tree was planted at the Juneau County Fairgrounds. Mauston is one of about 200 tree cities in Wisconsin, an honor the city has received each of the previous five years.
