A Reedsburg man faces two counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of 16 after an alleged incident in Mauston last December.
Samuel A. Terwall, 18, allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old girl after meeting at Hatch Public Library in Mauston on Dec. 19. Deputy Todd Green of the Juneau County Sheriff’s Department received a referral of a possible sexual assault on Jan. 5. Both the Wisconsin Dells and Sauk Prairie Police Departments had received information from a school resource officer that Terwall may have had sexual contact with multiple underage females.

An officer with the Sauk Prairie PD interviewed the alleged victim on Jan. 4. She stated she met Terwall through Facebook and had exchanged nude photos with him through Snapchat, but those photos were deleted.
On Dec. 19, Terwall met the girl in Mauston and drove her to her grandparent’s property near Castle Rock Resort in the Town of Marion. After arriving to the property, Terwall allegedly sexually assaulted the girl then drove her back to Mauston, telling her not to tell anyone what had happened.
According to the alleged victim, Terwall met her again on Dec. 26 at the Mauston library and they proceeded to nearby Riverside Park. She said Terwall allegedly assaulted her inside his truck.
Terwall has been released from custody, but will have an initial appearance at the Juneau County Justice Center on April 6.
